Are you tired of using fabric shavers, lint rollers, razors, scissors, pumice stones, and so on to remove pilling from your clothing? I know, I am!
The one thing I despise the most about these solutions is that they are not as simple as they sound. For example, I recently got a fabric shaver to remove some pills and fuzz from my almost-new cotton sweater. While it worked decently to remove pilling, it didn’t work at all on the lint and fuzz. Then, I had to spend extra money on getting a lint roller and repeat the whole process. At the end of the day, I was completely exhausted, and there was still some fuzz lying around in the sweater. Imagine my frustration at that moment!
I have also tried lint rollers, and while they work well on catching the debris, pet hair, and fluff from your clothing, they don’t remove pilling. Plus, there is another reason why I stopped using lint rollers a long time ago, and that is a lack of sustainability. The disposable adhesive sheets on rollers are made of plastic, you are using lint rollers as a part of your laundry care regime, you may need to stop for a second and just think about its consequences for the environment and future generations. and you need to replace them after every use. So, if you are using lint rollers as a part of your laundry care regime, you may need to stop for a second and just think about its consequences for the environment and future generations.
Last come the razor, scissors, and pumice stones. There are hundreds of videos on YouTube telling us repeatedly to use home gadgets as pill removers. However, I won’t recommend any of these, as they can easily damage or tear through the fabric. A single moment of negligence and your favourite cardigan will turn into a useless piece of fabric.
What is BIORESTORE Re-Tergent?
Some time ago, I came across BIORESTORE Re-Tergent. It’s a 4-in-1 laundry powder to remove pilling, lint, and fuzz from your cotton clothing in the washing machine. Not only this, but BIORESTORE also revives the original vibrancy and handfeel of your garments. In other words, instead of throwing out your pilled and worn-out cotton clothes, you can now revive them using BIORESTORE cotton.
Here's a catch: BIORESTORE is a cotton pill remover, which means that it only works on clothing with at least 70% cotton composition. So, you cannot use it on your polyester, spandex, cashmere, or woollen clothes. Plus, it’s a little costly, coming at a price of $25 per box, but I think that it’s well worth it and a great product for premium laundry care.
Pilling Remover Detergent
The detergents that use enzymes such as “cellulase” are beneficial for removing pilling from fabrics. BIORESTORE works on the exact principle. It uses enzymes that target pilling and lint in the washing machine.
The process of using this fabric care detergent is pretty simple. Just like your regular laundry, pick out your pilled cotton clothing and make a pile. Add the recommended amount of BIORESTORE Re-Tergent directly to the washer and run a cycle at 40 degrees (Celsius) for 2 hours. Once the cycle is completed, toss the clothing in a tumble dryer. If the care label mentions no tumble-drying, then rinse the fabric with a little detergent and let it dry naturally.
So, give it a try and see how this cotton pill remover revolutionises how you do your laundry!
